Successful Completion of Workshop titled “The Preparation of Strategic Budget Planning and Integration of SDGs within the Curriculum: Aligning with IQAC Standards for Green Business School”
Green Business School in collaboration with IQAC, GUB hosted a daylong workshop titled “The Preparation of Strategic Budget Planning and Integration of SDGs within the Curriculum: Aligning with IQAC Standards for Green Business School” on October 23rd, 2024 at 10:00 am. Held in Room G-108, the event united distinguished guests, faculty, and participants for a day of insightful dialogue on embedding strategic planning and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into GBS’s academic framework.
The workshop commenced at with an opening address from our Special Guest, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies. His remarks underscored the crucial role of strategic budget planning in driving academic excellence and maintaining alignment with IQAC standards. His words set the tone for the day’s discussions, emphasizing the importance of a forward-thinking approach to budgetary planning.


The Pro-Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, served as the Chief Guest and delivered a keynote address. He articulated the university’s vision of integrating sustainability into academic programs and the critical role of strategic planning in realizing this vision.
In Session-1, Our Keynote Speaker, Md. Fakhrudoza Bari, Assistant Professor at GBS, presented “SDGs Alignment with Course Content.” He highlighted practical approaches for embedding SDGs into course structures, using real-world examples to illustrate how academic content can align with sustainable development principles. This session included a lively Q&A segment at 11:30 am, where participants and PSAC members explored challenges and opportunities for aligning the curriculum with the SDGs.

Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Distinguished Professor at GBS, took the floor at 11:45 am. His presentation focused on the broader implications of integrating SDGs into higher education. He shared a compelling vision for the future of GBS, emphasizing continuous improvement and the crucial role of sustainability in shaping the institution’s long-term growth. His insights provided a profound perspective on the alignment of courses with SDGs, inspiring deeper reflection among the attendees
Session-2 focused on “The Preparation and Development of a Five-Year Strategic Budget Plan for Green Business School.” Our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Mohammad Delwar Hussain, Assistant Professor at GBS, led this session, providing a comprehensive roadmap for developing a strategic budget. Participants engaged in a hands-on teamwork activity that allowed them to apply the strategies discussed earlier in the workshop. The session was enriched by the contributions of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, who offered strategic insights into setting priorities and efficiently allocating resources.

The workshop concluded at 4:00 pm with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Mr. Mahmud Wahid, Chairperson of Green Business School. He expressed deep appreciation to the speakers, organizers, and participants, acknowledging their collective efforts in making the workshop a success. He extended special thanks to the PSAC committee members for their role in organizing the event, highlighting their dedication to advancing the Green Business School’s strategic vision.
